Class Descriptions

ADULT AND TEEN WEEKEND CLASS
Length: 5 or 10 hours 
Fee: Day 1 Only (can be used as a stand alone Intro, space permitting): Early-bird special is $159 with 14 days advanced registration and payment; $179 thereafter. Day 1 + Day 2: Early-bird special is $319 with 14 days advanced registration and payment; $349 thereafter. $100 non-refundable deposit required to register.  If the class fills before you make your $100 deposit, you can put yourself on a waiting list for the class by paying in full.  Acceptance into the class will be “first-come first-served” in the order we receive payment, and these payments will be refunded if you do not get into the class. 

Open to: All Adults and Teens with a parent / guardian
Maximum enrollment: 16 
Choose day 1 for 5 hours or the weekend for 10 hours for the person who is too busy or not yet ready for the full Intensive Course.  Ten hours of verbal tactics, stand-up defenses or the basics of groundfighting.

PRE-TEEN SELF DEFENSE
Length: 2-2.5 hours
Fee: Early-bird rate is $79 with 14 days advanced registration and payment, $89 within 14 days of workshop, pre-registration and parent/guardian consent form require9

: All children ages 10-13
Maximum enrollment: 16
This introductory workshop is geared specifically to pre-teen and young teens. Students learn techniques for verbal de-escalation and boundary-setting, physical strategies for dealing with standing confrontations, and practice these in simulated attack scenarios with a male instructor in padded gear. An emphasis is placed on addressing situations involving peers and social situations the preteens face.

CHILDEN’S WORKSHOP
Length: 1.15 Hours
Fee: Early-bird rate is $39 with 14 days advanced registration and payment, $49 within 14 days of workshop, pre-registration and parent/guardian consent form required
Open to
: All children ages 5-8
Maximum enrollment:
In these workshops, children along with their parents, will learn how to act aware, calm and confident; how to take charge and get help. In addition, children will learn how to set clear and appropriate boundaries, how to stop unwanted touching and teasing and how to protect themselves from name calling and hurtful words. This workshop will include physical self-defense and will begin with extensive practice in many other skills that can prevent, avoid, leave or de-escalate problems before they become physical. Our goal is to empower young children with the full range of skills they deserve in order to escape from emergency situations as quickly as possible. The workshops are divided into two sections. One dealing primarily with situations with people they know and the other with strangers.

DEFENSE AGAINST ASSAILANT WITH GUN
Length: 5 or 10 hours
Fee: Day 1 Only (can be used as a stand alone Intro, space permitting): Early-bird special is $179 with 14 days advanced registration and payment; $199 thereafter. An Intoductor Workshop on some of the basics of defense against an assailant with a gun. 

ADULT WOMEN AND TEEN GIRLS EMPOWERMENT (not Full-Force)
Length: 3 hours

Open to: All adults women and teen girls

IMPACT INTENSIVE
Length: 25 Hours 
Fee: $750; $50 discount if paid in full 1 month in advance Grad rate $350; $100 deposit to reserve space in class

This course offers instruction in physical, verbal and psychological self-defense techniques for dealing with a variety of self-defense situations including those which end up on the ground. The course is taught in five sessions of and provides opportunity for structured group discussions in addition to verbal and physical practice and simulated attack scenarios with male instructors in padded gear

INTRO to IMPACT
Length: 5 Hours

Learn verbal tactics to keep yourself safe in situations of imminent violence or boundary violations- whether with friends, acquaintances or family. Learn (or review if you are a grad) basic physical techniques to use if verbal tactics are not enough. Class size is limited and students have opportunities to practice use of physical and verbal skills in drills and simulated attack scenarios with a male instructor in padded armor.

COLLEGE BOUND SELF DEFENSE
Length: 5 hours

Open to: All teens age 15-19 and college-age women 
Maximum enrollment: 16
This introductory workshop is geared specifically to teens. An emphasis is placed on addressing situations involving conflict with acquaintances, as this is the highest risk category for young women (occasionally taught as co-ed). Typically offered in late spring and in August.

Custom Workshops
We develop customized workshops and presentations for groups, schools, community organizations, mother-daughter groups, and businesses. Workshops can be any length from 1.5 hours and up for one instructor, and 2 hours and up for workshops including scenario-based instruction with padded instructors, to allow sufficient time for instruction and practice.
